Vinyasa with Kate
Kate’s yoga classes express a foundation of yoga poses that give her students a gentle, more relaxing approach to yoga. Her versatile use of yoga lineages allows students to experience various yoga styles. Her classes meet the needs of "new-to-yoga" students as well as more advanced students.
Vinyasa is a type of Hatha Yoga, meaning the physical practice of yoga. Vinyasa yoga is a newer style of yoga that was created in our Western world. Vinyasa means connecting body movements to your breath. In other words, students are instructed to move from one pose to the next on an inhale or an exhale. This style is sometimes also called Vinyasa Flow, or just Flow, because of the smooth way that the poses run together and become like a dance. It offers good body alignment and safety, while creating a mind, body and spirit connection. Vinyasa yoga brings an awareness of our bodies from within. We learn to honor ourselves by letting go of judgment, competition and stress while staying within the moment.
